Introduction to AI Tools & Management


Talon's AI tools can recognize objects and identify deficiencies. AI Labeling is a feature within the tool, allowing specialized user roles to teach the model with accuracy. Labeling is the next step toward a more efficient workflowas the AI model learns to recognize various objects and deficiencies, teams can reduce time spent accepting and rejecting photos for a project.

AI Labeling Tutorial


Step 1 Locate and select the Dashboard tab in the main navigation menu, then please select the AI option from the dropdown. This action will prompt the AI tool management page.



In AI management, you will see various tools for AI Class, AI Settings, NLP Models, and VQA Models. By default, the AI Class management should be selected and visible upon prompt. On this page, labeling admins can view, add, modify, and manage AI Classes by:

  • Name
  • Detected by AI/Users
  • Color
  • Actions



Step 2 Select the button to ADD AI CLASS. A popup window will appear to Add AI Class.



Step 3 In the Add AI Class window, please enter the title of the object you wish to classify and select a label color. 


Note You will not be able to rename the AI Class after saving.



Once a title has been entered and a color has been selected, confirm this information and click Save when ready. 



After saving, the popup window will close and return to the AI tool management page where you will now see the newly added AI Class appearing at the top of the list. 


Here, you can view all AI Classes, the number of detections by AI/User, label color, and action options to edit or delete each AI Class.


For Actions, you can modify the label color by clicking the pencil icon or remove the AI class by clicking the trash can icon.



Once steps 1-3 have been completed, labeling admins can now utilize AI Classes in a session. Continue to step 4.


Step 4 Locate and open a session. Navigate to the gallery, select the thumbnail of an image to open the selection in the main viewing area. 




Step 5 Click and drag around the image, locating to the area of the image you wish to focus. You can also use the zoom in/out function. 


Step 6 In the toolbar, select the labeling button. A small popup window will appear. 



Step 7 Select the line drawing button to enable the tool. Next, open the AI Class dropdown and select which AI Class you would like to use for this image (if not already selected).



Step 8 Using the line drawing tool, please create an outline around the object you wish to identify. 

  1. Click once to begin the line drawing
  2. Move your cursor along the edge of the object and click again to add points
  3. Double-click to complete the outline


Note Please ensure that the lines of any line drawing(s) are as close as possible to the edge of each object. 



To complete the line drawing of an object, please double-click at its final point around the object. Once a line drawing is finished, another popup window will appear to Submit or Cancel the drawing. 


  • If you need to modify the line drawing, please select Cancel. To confirm the line drawing, please select Submit.



Step 9 Once a line drawing has been completed and submitted, another popup window will appear and you can select Close to complete this process. 



You can now repeat this process for other AI Classes as needed.
